| The Explorer program is part of Boy Scouts of America organized
under Learning for Life's career education program. Rowlett Explorer
Post 1 membership is open to young men and women between the ages of 14
and 20 (you must have completed 8th grade). The program is provided so
young adults have the opportunity to experience CERT and Emergency
Management first hand as well as develop leadership and
citizenship skills. The Explorer program is a year round activity
which meets twice a month during evening hours. All 1st year explorers
will attend a 20 hour CERT Course to learn the basics of emergency
preparedness and public safety. Additional training in Fire, EMS, Law
Enforcement and Amateur Radio operations may be possible as
opportunities present themselves.
