Community Emergency Response Team
After a disaster, residents may need to be self-sufficient for up to 72 hours without additional resources. Neighborhood-based CERT teams provide the training and equipment to help you bridge that gap.

2002 - 2012 10th Annivsary
The Rowlett Fire Corps team provides rehab and support services to Rowlett Fire Rescue and Police departments while on long duration incidents. Rowlett Fire Corps is an affiliated program of the RCCC.
Open to those who are 14 to 20 years old (completed 8th grade) who are interested in Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) or a career in Public Safety or Emergency Management.

Volunteers in Police Service
VOLUNTEERS AND COMMITMENT IT CAN WORK, IT WILL WORK
The Rowlett Volunteers in Policing Services is asking all graduates of the Rowlett Citizen Police Academy to join in the fight against crime. You made the COMMITMENT, now become a VOLUNTEER.
The VIPS program for Rowlett was established in May, 2006 starting with five core members of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. Today volunteers are trained to assist with:
- Administrative Police Functions
- Code Enforcement
- Handicap Parking Violations
- Holiday Safety Patrols
- Vacation House Watch

Neighborhood Crime Watch: Eyes on Rowlett
Eyes on Rowlett is an innovative community policing program designed to provide emergency assistance, utilizing cell phones and existing two-way radio communications. The program is offered through the Rowlett Police Department and is part of the training offered to Rowlett’s Neighborhood Crime Watch groups. Participants provide alert eyes and ears to law enforcement which significantly and cost effectively enhances crime prevention and aid persons in need.
